A Rustic Backyard Wedding at Cross Creek Ranch in Dover, Florida

Sasha Sadhi (21 and a teacher) and Dylan Harrison (21 and an IT expert) met in college when they were both 18 years old. Within two months of talking and hanging out, they began dating. Despite transferring to a school three hours away, Sasha and Dylan continued their relationship. On February 14, 2013 Dylan surprised Sasha with a date to go to a nice restaurant. After "forgetting" his wallet, Dylan turned the car around back to his house. Dylan's family had set up a candlelit dinner table under the oak trees in the middle of his family's 40 acre property. After a delicious Italian meal with dessert, Dylan got down on his knee and proposed with his mother's original wedding ring. Wanting a rustic backyard wedding, Sasha and Dylan knew that Cross Creek Ranch in Dover, Florida was the perfect venue which had an oak tree for the ceremony and a barn for the reception. The color palette consisted of purple, tan, and rust seen in the bridesmaid dresses, groomsmen suits, and floral bouquets and arrangements. With Dylan's family being from the South and Sasha's from Jamaica, the appetizers were jerk chicken kababs and BBQ pork sliders. The entree options included a choice of grilled grouper or braised beef brisket. To finish off for dessert, the newlyweds served a three tiered cake, each with a different filling and completed with butter cream icing. Throughout the reception, the couple offered a photo booth with props and costumes, a corn-hole, similar to horseshoes, tournament along with dancing and other activities. Before the ceremony, Sasha asked Dylan to pray without facing each other. As they held each others hands behind their backs and prayed, Dylan's nerves vanished. "I knew I would be happy for the rest of my life," says Dylan.
