A Rustic Backyard Vow Renewal in Cornwall, Vermont

Heidi Irving Naughton (49) and Kevin Naughton (55 and an investment banker) celebrated 25 years of marriage in front of 85 family members and friends, including the couple's children. “It was especially meaningful for our children to witness us renew our vows,” Heidi says. “I actually think I had more fun at our vow renewal than I did at our original wedding—I was so much more relaxed and at ease.” Taking advantage of their farm's mountain vistas, the couple hosted the entire soiree outdoors, including a ceremony on the couple’s pool terrace, where Heidi’s sister, Heather, officiated the vow renewal. “It was just a wonderful moment to share with our family and friends,” Heidi says. Local Vermont food was served during cocktail hour, and partygoers helped themselves to a vegan spread of blueberry cobbler and avocado chocolate cream pie. A string trio played softly in the background as guests sipped Moscow mules before moving into the reception where wood farm tables and textured centerpieces enhanced the reception's natural setting. As a token of their thanks, Heidi and Kevin gifted their guests with eucalyptus and sage candles trimmed with green velvet ribbon.
