A Rustic and Cozy Winter Barn Wedding at Chandelier Grove in Tomball, Texas

High school sweethearts Jessica and TJ set out to throw a romantic winter wedding, which for them meant candles and flowers galore, velvet linens and a palette of burgundy, taupe, rose gold and blush. A family friend and pastor married the pair in front of a flower-covered cross, and a reception in a rustic barn followed. “The space has beautiful high beams and ceilings,” Jessica says. “I asked for tall table arrangements to help draw guests’ attention upward.” Blooms played a pivotal role: hydrangeas, roses and dahlias filled centerpieces, chandeliers and table runners.

Jessica carried two keepsakes from her grandmother: the sixpence from her wedding day, which Jessica clipped to the buckle of her dusty rose Jimmy Choos, and a brooch that Jessica attached to her bouquet of roses, ranunculus, dusty miller, eucalyptus and dahlias.  Signature drinks, an old-fashioned for TJ and a “sugar plum fizz” made with prosecco, simple syrup, thyme and plums for Jessica, kicked off cocktail hour. Later, guests snapped pics in a photo booth trailer and enjoyed an Italian cream and vanilla wedding cake with strawberry cream cheese filling. Fun eats, like boozy late-night milkshakes and kolaches, also had a moment, as did the groom’s cake: a German chocolate, Louisiana State University–themed treat, honoring the pair’s college alma mater.
