A Rustic and Casual Wedding at Stout's Island Lodge in Birchwood, Wisconsin

Morgan Murphy and Matt Dean celebrated with a rustic, casual and natural wedding at Stout's Island Lodge in Birchwood, Wisconsin. "We met living in Mexico nearly nine years ago and have lived abroad ever since," Morgan says. "Adventure is a huge part of our story together and we wanted to bring this to life with our wedding experience." The couple currently lives on an island in Korea, so they wanted to spend the weekend together on an island with their favorite people. They aimed to make the day feel natural, intimate and laid-back—reflecting the way they live. Morgan wore an open back, long-sleeved dress with a form-fitting silhouette, while Matt donned a classic gray jacket, white shirt and black dress pants. The bridesmaids matched Morgan by wearing white midi-dresses—and all the ladies carried bouquets of white flowers and greenery. The wedding ceremony overlooked trees and the water. Natural greenery arrangements lined the aisle, and guests sat in wooden cross-back chairs. Sweet flower girls, dressed in white frocks and crowns, brought plenty of "oohs and ahhs" from the guests. Afterward, everyone headed to an outdoor reception, which had white linens and wooden chairs. Centerpieces consisted of candles, greenery and table name signs; each table was named after a memorable place in the couple's life. Morgan, a lake lover, always wanted to jump into a lake on her wedding night and dreamt of getting in a canoe for a paddle in her wedding dress. "On our wedding night, we made an impromptu decision to make this dream come alive," she says. "Surrounded by only a few friends, we jumped into the lake at the end of the evening and paddled away for a quiet moment after dinner. Our wonderful photographer captured these special moments and we smile every time we see these photos."
