A Romantic, Whimsical Wedding at Prospect House in Dripping Springs, Texas
Prospect House provided a clean and contemporary canvas for Alexandra Logan (26 and a recruiting coordinator) and Christopher (Chris) Jaynes’s (26 and a lawyer) bash, as the couple embellished it with dramatic floral arrangements and a romantic color scheme of blush, plum, lavender, burgundy and emerald. Alexandra donned a long-sleeve, lace A-line gown with an illusion neckline, while her bridesmaids wore floor-length, mismatched gowns in a variety of hues. “The bouquets really brought the looks together,” Alexandra says. The garden-inspired arrangements included cream, blush, lavender, burgundy and berry-colored blooms. “I wanted the wedding to be floral heavy but not so much that they overshadowed the minimalism of the venue,” Alexandra says. “My flowers were absolutely my favorite part of the wedding.” The couple’s florist created a showstopping installation of smilax vine, which was attached to Prospect House’s windmill chandelier. Minimalist wood tables were simply draped with cheesecloth runners and accented with votives, allowing the luxurious floral centerpieces to pop. A friend penned place cards with elegant script, while Alexandra scored a calligraphy seating chart off Etsy.com. After a sparkler send-off, the couple jetted off in a black Escalade to the Hotel San Jose in Austin’s South Congress neighborhood. “Our friends arranged for the hotel to deliver wine and a meat and cheese board within minutes of arriving,” the bride says, which the couple appreciated. “Never did I think we would have a rainy wedding in August,” Alexandra says. “It only rained for 20 minutes that day, and it was during our ceremony. But it was so romantic and very memorable.”
