A Romantic, Whimisical Wedding at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California

Aniko Kim (31 and a healthcare administrator) and David Kim (33 and a realtor) met at a mutual friend's party and the sparks flew instantly. Despite the immediate attraction, David left the party without saying goodbye to Aniko. The next day, however, he got her number from friends and their true love story began. When he was ready for the next step, David wrapped the engagement ring and placed it on top of the Christmas tree. After a full day had gone by, Aniko noticed the unusual box at the top of the tree and asked David what it was. He urged her to open the box and as she did, he got down on one knee and proposed. Aniko and David decided to have their wedding at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, CA. "The San Ysidro Ranch describes itself to be a romantic hideaway where natural beauty and classic luxury combine," Aniko says, "and that is exactly how we wanted our special day to feel." The ranch inspired their color palette of cream, blush and silvery green. "I really wanted to capture the silvery green of all the different native sages and lavender found on the property," Aniko says. Aniko thanks her sister for playing a large role in creating the day. She helped with the invitation suite, the flowers and the custom painted table numbers. While some centerpieces were traditional floral arrangements, there were also terrariums with tillandsia and butterflies that added to the whimsical look of the ranch. With a short, five month engagement, Aniko and David's wedding motto of "soon and simple" proved to pay off with a beautiful spring wedding.
