A Romantic Wedding at the Parker Palm Springs in Palm Springs, California
Although this romantic ballroom wedding took place in the middle of winter, the desert climate in Palm Springs, California, ensured no snow would be in sight. “We had always wanted a winter wedding because it feels special and unexpected,” Odessa DeGrieck (32 and in merchandising) says of her marriage to Anthony Villanueva (35 and in logistics). “We live in Seattle, Washington, where the weather can be unreliable that time of year, and we loved the idea of a winter wedding in the dessert, where we could have some indoor-outdoor elements.” The couple booked the Parker Palm Springs in Palm Springs, California, with the perfect outdoor garden space for their ceremony, where they were married underneath an archway framed by two olive trees captured on camera by Michael Segal Photography. Guests followed votive candles lining small gravel paths throughout the garden and into the ballroom reception, where Sputnik chandeliers and ceiling mirrors reflected twinkling string lights that created a magical, romantic ambience. Charcoal gray and black combined with champagne, blush and gold made up the neutral color palette that decorated many of the wedding elements—from the delicate invitations to the lush flower centerpieces on dining tables and the matching dark wedding party attire—all organized with the help of Save the Date Events. Our favorite detail had to be what guests took home with them: sweet artisanal fleur de sel caramels packaged inside small glass mason jars with the words "Love is Sweet" on the front. "It was so important to me that our family and friends bare witness to the commitment we were making," Odessa says. "We didn't do any special activities or have any after-party, but what we wanted was an amazing meal and a ridiculous dance party, and we got it."
