A Romantic Wedding at Olde Dobbin Station in Montgomery, Texas
Long before Katie Johnston and Thomas Richardson had even met, she had her eye on Olde Dobbin Station in Montgomery, Texas. "I had been stalking that venue for years," Katie says. Together, the couple planned a winter wedding at a chapel just north of Houston, Texas, before celebrating in the renovated train depot, which was decorated with stunning florals and dozens of romantic details. Fluffy pink and white hydrangeas topped long reception tables, and the couple's 220 guests found their seats thanks to chalkboard-clip escort cards strung with ribbon and pieces of printed canvas. "Those canvases are now hanging in our home," Katie says of the DIY detail. "They serve as a fun leftover from our wedding." Just after the newlyweds made their entrance under an arch of military sabers, the pair shared a sentimental first dance to "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" before running into a slight snafu. "The band lost power about four measures in, and the music stopped," Katie says. "Our planner kept cool as a cucumber and told us to mingle with our wedding party like there was no problem at all." Luckily, the music came back, and Katie and Thomas spent the night dining on s'mores, coffee and cake while dancing alongside other partygoers. "The photo booth pictures were my favorite detail," Katie says. "It's so fun to look back and be reminded of how much fun our guests were having." —Rachel Sylvester
