A Romantic Wedding at Desert Golf Spring Course in Sun City, Arizona
Kyrsten Dorssey (20 and a wellness center host) and Jacob Bowen (20 and a solar panel installer) met at their friend’s wedding and have been best friends ever since. Jacob almost slipped up the surprise proposal he had planned for a trip with friends to Laguna Beach, California, by admitting his scheme to Kyrsten on the phone. Regardless, he still got down on one knee on the beach that weekend in front of all of their friends, and Kyrsten happily said yes between tears of joy. Kyrsten and Jacob got married at the Desert Golf Spring Course in Sun City, Arizona in an open grassy area surrounded by date palms. Their wedding arch of draped linens and a chandelier with a color palette of dusty blue and pink added elegance and romance to the natural space. The bride borrowed her wedding dress from her Maid of Honor; er tulle ball gown fit her like a glove and took her breath away, so she knew it was the one. The bridesmaids wore blush dresses in their own styles, and the groomsmen wore their own style of navy tuxedos with an Eldridge Knot to remember the bride’s brother who passed away shortly after her engagement. The wedding reception moved to a friend’s backyard, where the tables wrapped around the house and the dance floor was under a wood trellis with twinkle lights. Most of the decorations were DIY, including the centerpieces of wooden slabs with mason jars and lanterns. The bride meticulously planned the music from the pre-ceremony through the reception. “I wanted it to be like an awesome indie movie with each song fitting the mood,” says Kyrsten. “It made the experience!”
