Laura Stirrett (21 and a receptionist) and Matthew Stirrett (22 and works in an oil field) go to the beautiful Bernhardt Winery in Plantersville, Texas, all the time because it's a good date spot. When they found out the venue hosts weddings, they jumped at the opportunity. “Since we were having our wedding at a winery, we wanted to go for the Tuscany feeling. What inspired us was our love for wine,” Laura says. Every detail of their wedding included their favorite color, red, with white or black to contrast. Laura’s mother picked out the bride's dress: “She knows what I like and how I wanted none other than a dress by Maggie Sottero,” Laura says. She wore a beautiful ball gown with an intricately beaded fitted bodice and sweetheart neckline with a tulle veil. The story behind her choice of bouquet is so adorable. “I wanted to go with red roses and white lilies because since we’ve been together, any time Matthew gets me flowers, that’s what they are,” Laura says. “He knows they are my absolute favorite.” Laura and Matthew got lots of compliments on the cocktail hour, where they had live musicians from Third Floor Strings while guests dined on cheese, crackers and fruit with wine and other drinks to create a totally Italian vibe. Laura and Matthew say the atmosphere really reflected them as a couple. “We aren’t the kind of couple to be about only material things,” Laura says. “We loved having all our family, their fun personalities and good food—that’s all we needed.” See the sweet details, captured by Rachel Maire Photography, below.
