A Romantic Waterfront Wedding at the Inn at Ocean's Edge in Lincolnville, Maine

Jamie Pillet (28 and a talent agent) and Alex Dollin (30 and a news producer and reporter) left their home on Long Island, New York, for a destination

Jamie Pillet (28 and a talent agent) and Alex Dollin (30 and a news producer and reporter) left their home on Long Island, New York, for a destination wedding at the Inn at Ocean's Edge in Lincolnville, Maine. A former vacation spot for Jamie's family, the couple knew it would be the perfect place to celebrate their nuptials. They rented the entire bed-and-breakfast for the weekend, so friends and family wouldn’t have to travel after the party. “It was such a thrill to introduce our closest friends and family to a spot that had become so special to us,” Jamie says. “Almost our entire guest list stayed on-site at the inn, enjoying the ocean views all weekend.” For the couple’s traditional Jewish ceremony, Jamie’s friend sang the seven blessings in Hebrew, and the couple exchanged vows under a chuppah embellished with greenery and pink and peach blooms. Before the ceremony, the couple signed a ketubah (Jewish wedding contract), which was painted by Jamie’s father. “He did a watercolor of the view from the balcony of the inn,” the bride says. “It felt perfect, since my dad had picked that inn for us to visit on our Maine vacation almost 10 years earlier.” The couple brought their alfresco summer celebration to life with a palette of pink, sage green and champagne, along with glitzy decor and pink and peach blooms. For their menu, Jamie and Alex embraced Maine’s delicious coastal cuisine with an oyster bar and local wine. “Trillium takes so much care with their food, and they use as many local ingredients as they can. Our guests loved everything,” the bride says of their dinner feast. “The presentation was just wonderful as well.” The couple kicked off the dancing with a celebratory hora, and the eight-piece band Encore from Boston kept the dance floor packed. “They were incredible,” Jamie says. “We had always envisioned live music by the ocean for our wedding, so this was non-negotiable for us.” A photo booth, provided through Alex’s DJ company, let guests capture memories of their own. The couple’s invitations, escort cards, menu and wedding signs were designed by Red Letter Day Invitations. They matched the pink and peach blooms in the tablescape bouquets.

During the ceremony, Jamie accessorized her Romona Keveza gown with a pair of Badgley Mischka shoes, then switched into a pair of white glittery Kate Spade Keds for the reception. “I am the biggest Kate Spade fan, so I had to make sure to incorporate her some how,” Jamie says.

Alex's godson was the couple's ring bearer, carrying a handmade ring box inscribed with the couple’s names and wedding date.
Welcome bags were filled with local snacks, like Poland Spring water, Vintage Maine Kitchen chips and lobster cookies from their favorite bakery on Long Island, Saint Honore Pastry Shoppe, which is also where Jamie had her first job.
“Our flowers were pretty simple and minimal because our landscape and backdrop were so lush and beautiful on their own,” Jamie says. “I love peonies—they go perfectly with Kate Spade—so we absolutely had to have those, and the garden roses added a nice balance.” The bride's bouquet also incorporated wildflowers native to Maine and succulents for texture.
Before the couple’s Jewish ceremony, Jamie and Alex signed a ketubah (Jewish wedding contract), which was painted by the bride’s father. “He did a watercolor of the view from the balcony of the inn,” Jamie says. “It felt perfect, since my dad had picked that inn for us to visit on our Maine vacation almost 10 years earlier.”
Jamie and Alex wanted guests to stay warm during their ocean-side celebration, so they provided blankets wrapped with satin ribbon. They were displayed in baskets with a cheeky hand-painted sign that read “To have and to hold, in case you get cold.”
“The ocean did most of the decorating for our ceremony,” Jamie says. “We kept our decor very simple, because our location was truly the star.” For their Jewish ceremony, a chuppah was embellished with greenery, peonies and garden roses, and petals were scattered down the aisle.

“It was such a thrill to introduce our closest friends and family to this spot that had become so special to us,” Jamie says. “Almost our entire guest list stayed on-site at the inn, enjoying the ocean views all weekend. Alex and I had always envisioned getting married on the ocean, under a tent with a live band. Although we pictured it in different places, we were able to make it happen in Maine, and it was truly the best day of our lives.”
Custom escort cards echoed the design of the invitations with pink flowers and calligraphy.
“Our reception was exactly how we envisioned it,” Jamie says. “We dressed up our tent with draped fabric and crystal chandeliers, and our centerpieces included a lot of candles to achieve a romantic and intimate ambiance.” Tables were cloaked in soft pink linens and surrounded with elegant gold chiavari chairs.
Encore, an eight-piece band based in Boston, kicked off the dancing and kept the party going all night.
Each place setting included soft green napkins and round menus with the same design from the couple’s wedding invitations.
Jamie and Alex's whimsical “love” cake topper incorporated Mickey Mouse and a cat. “We love our cat, and he has really made us feel like a family the last two years,” Jamie says. “We couldn't take him to Maine with us but wanted him represented at the wedding.”
“We kept our flowers very simple since our location was so beautiful and lush,” Jamie says. “We used lots of garlands with pops of pink peonies—my favorite flowers—and peach garden roses.” The tablescapes also included gold lanterns, pillar candles and rose gold votives.
Jamie and Alex had their first dance as husband and wife to "Tenerife Sea" by Ed Sheeran. “It said everything we were feeling and made for a perfect moment,” the bride says.
