A Romantic Waterfront Wedding at BayPointe Inn in Shelbyville, Michigan

After 10 years of dating—the pair met in elementary school!—Kayla (26) and Ryan Slatton (26) tied the knot in a celebration that's best described as intimate and romantic. "We knew we wanted to get married outdoors and dreamed of it being on the water," Kayla says of their decision to wed at BayPointe Inn in Shelbyville, Michigan. "Once we discovered the inn, we instantly fell in love with the setting." Situated on the shores of Gunn Lake, Kayla and Ryan's vintage-themed fete featured many antiques (including her grandmother's cake topper), which went perfectly with a soft color palette of pink and gold. "It was so important for us to incorporate personal touches, like family wedding photographs, welcome baskets, monogrammed glasses and local drinks," Kayla says. The couple's 25 guests sipped on Michigan-brewed beer and enjoyed boat rides around the lake before settling in for a casual dinner surrounding a single white farm table—no table numbers necessary. "By having a small, intimate wedding, we were able to truly enjoy the company of all our guests without feeling stressed," Kayla says. "We just celebrated and had the time of our lives—Ryan and I will definitely be telling our story for a lifetime."
