A Romantic, Vintage-Inspired Wedding at Gramercy Mansion in Stevenson, Maryland
Vintage décor and rustic accents paired perfectly with Taylor Hursh (25 and an emergency and trauma nurse) and Winston Jackson’s (30 and a systems analyst contractor at the US Air Force) classic color scheme of navy blue and blush.
Currently residing in Georgia, Taylor and Winston planned their wedding near the groom’s family’s home at a historic mansion. “My vision was to have a simple, but classy wedding look with an antique feel,” Taylor says. Navy invitations embellished with pink flowers and sent using antique stamps set the tone.
“It started with a wool tweed sports coat,” Taylor says of her groom’s fall-friendly look. “We loved the combination of textures, colors and fabrics.”
“Winston and I don’t eat cake often so we had no idea what we wanted,” Taylor says of their lightly frosted dessert garnished with blooms. “While we designed the cake, we let our caterer decide the final flavors and let it be a surprise to everyone.”
The couple used Winston’s mother’s wedding broom for the jumping of the broom ritual.
Blush linens and navy-and-white runners topped tables along with ornate arrangements of pink blooms and sculptural greenery. As wedding favors, friends and family were given potted plants with a tiny tag reading “Let Love Grow.”
The couple’s labradoodle, Reece, acted as ring bearer. “It was such a special moment to see him prance down the aisle,” Taylor says.
