A Romantic Vineyard Wedding at Old House Vineyards in Culpeper, Virginia
High school sweethearts Ashley Lambert (27 and an executive assistant) and Kenny Grammick (27 and a senior consultant) said “I do” in Virginia’s beautiful wine country at Old House Vineyards in the quaint town of Culpeper. “Our venue reflected us as a couple,” Ashley says. “Everyone knows that we love wine and visiting vineyards, so I think having our wedding in Virginia wine country was perfect for us.” Ashley and Kenny exchanged vows on an island in the middle of a large pond, and guests walked across a floating walkway to the ceremony site. “That alone made me fall in love with the venue,” Ashley says. With a beautiful bucolic backdrop, there was no need for much decor. A chandelier was hung in the middle of the arbor, and large floral arrangements of white hydrangeas, pink and white roses, baby's breath, dusty miller, eucalyptus and green cascading amaranthus were placed on top of wine barrels that flanked the altar. “I wanted my flowers to be full, lush and romantic, and I knew I wanted hydrangeas and roses,” says Ashley, who helped her floral designer (also a bridesmaid) prep the flowers a few days prior to the wedding. A color scheme of blush pink, beige and ivory—along with a few sparkly accents—gave the outdoor celebration a laid-back summery vibe. Thoughtful little details like a wooden Virginia cutout in lieu of a guestbook, personalized matchbooks and cocktail napkins, along with wine from the vineyard made the celebration personal and memorable. “The best part about our wedding was the dance party,” Ashley says. “Seeing all our guests dance the night away made me so happy.” —Marissa Hermanson
