A Romantic Summer Wedding at Sassi in Scottsdale, Arizona

Ashley Lopez (25, a wardrobe consultant and personal shopper) and Josh Lopez ( 24, a law student) met in Las Vegas during college.“While out at a club, my best friend and roommate invited her friend who brought his co-worker, Josh,” Ashley says. “We hit it off, exchanged phone numbers and from there we began talking all the time and visiting each other. We always had so much fun together. It didn't take long to know that this was it. After I graduated college, I moved to Las Vegas to be with him. We spoke about marriage early on in our relationship, and so when the time was right, we custom designed the wedding rings. When he mentioned that the rings had arrived at his parents’ house, I began asking his friends when Josh may propose! They all told me that he would do it in August around our birthday. So while on a vacation in Maui with my parents and Josh, we were walking along the beach at sunset before dinner. I didn’t know he had the ring with him. He told me how much he loved me, and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and that he would never let me wait until August! Then he got down on his knee right there and asked me to marry him! I was so happy and surprised. It was perfect.”When the couple started wedding planning, they looked in Arizona for their venue and found the perfect spot for them.“We found Sassi in Pinnacle Peak, Arizona, near north Scottsdale. It’ nestled in a secluded area in the desert near the mountains. It was the perfect backdrop for the wedding. Sassi (which means stones in Italian) had tons of stones, bricks, ivy, olive trees and fountains -- all perfect for the photos. We wanted the ceremony outdoors, and Sassi had a breathtaking spot for it.”
