A Romantic Shabby Chic Wedding at Brookside Equestrian Center in Walnut, California
Christine Cheng (26 and a teacher) and Joe Le (27 and an engineer) met during their junior year of college at University of California San Diego when a good mutual friend introduced the two. One night at a dance on campus, Joe decided to show off his mediocre hip-hop dance moves and managed to grab Christine's attention, making the seasoned dancer laugh. They got to know each other from there and everything started to fall into place. Christine and Joe started dating and were able to find jobs in the same city following graduation. Six years after they met, Joe popped the question. "After dinner one night, I drove Christine back to our place. Of course by this time, it was getting late and she wanted to get a good night’s sleep. Quickly, I told her that my roommate had a really cool project outside and that we should go check it out," says Joe. "She was reluctant at first because she was questioning why it couldn't wait till the next day. I was able to lead her to the backyard and when we both stepped out of the house, we saw my roommate looking into the telescope at the big bright full moon. He convinced Christine to look into the telescope and as soon as she did she could see the words 'Will you marry me?' written inside." The couple planned a romantic shabby chic affair at the Brookside Equestrian Center in Walnut, CA. The couple filled the day with a soft pink, grey and cream color palette and played up the natural setting a with an outdoor ceremony under a majestic oak tree, plus plenty of vintage props that added a quaint, rustic touch to the day.
