A Romantic, Rustic Wedding at the Chateau at Incline Village in Incline Village, Nevada
Seven-year sweethearts Daniela O’Mara (27 and an attorney) and Michael O’Mara (28 and an attorney) had a romantic wedding in the mountains near Lake Tahoe in Incline Village, Nevada. “We’d spent a lot of time in Tahoe and got engaged there, so it just felt right,” Daniela says. The Chateau at Incline Village provided a cute, rustic setting to accommodate the couple’s family and friends for their wedding day. Originally from Finland, the bride included aspects of her heritage throughout her wedding. “I unexpectedly ended up finding my wedding dress on a trip home to Finland and had to bring it to the US,” Daniela says. The bridal party whisked her away for the Finnish wedding tradition of "bride kidnapping," where the groom had to perform whatever embarrassing task the kidnappers came up with—in this case, a series of karaoke performances. The couple also packaged Finnish chocolates into individual gift boxes for their wedding favors. Lots of children attended this wedding, so the couple included activities such as kids’ gift bags and a kids’ dance hour to get guests of all ages involved. The s’mores bar with an outdoor fire pit was a hit too. The couple’s favorite part of the day? “I really loved our ceremony—we chose music, readings and vows that really fit our journey as a couple, and we had a great officiant,” Daniela says.
