A Romantic, Rustic Wedding at Richardson Historic Park in Wilton Manors, Florida

Shortly after meeting online, Jheraud James (23 and a senior restaurant manager) and Richard Werhle III (34 and an assistant general manager at a restaurant) got engaged and, in the span of 17 months, planned a rustic-glam celebration that was uniquely their own. The navy-blue and marsala color scheme reflected the couple’s favorite colors, and menu highlights like fried chicken and waffles and treats from The Salty Donut spoke to their personal tastes. “We wanted to include every aspect of our lives into the design—from adventures we’ve taken together to various foods we’ve enjoyed,” Richard says. Jheraud and Richard solidified their union with a symbolic sand ceremony in front of 105 guests. “We added sand to a box to signify the joining of our two lives, cultures and families,” Richard says. “Now we’re able to add sand to that same box after every trip we take together moving forward.” Another unforgettable detail: An on-site poet who crafted custom verses for guests during cocktail hour. Fresh roses cascaded down the side of the couple’s white-chocolate-raspberry and tiramisu-flavored cake.
