A Romantic, Rustic Wedding at Ribault Club in Jacksonville, Florida
“He proposed to me while we were camping in South Carolina, so it was only natural to have our wedding outdoors,” Sarah Pepple (26 and a first grade teacher) says of her and Ian Baptiste’s (27 and a financial solutions advisor) navy and cinnamon-colored celebration. From Ian’s tweed jacket and Sarah’s classic lace gown to the simple invitations and the oblong buttercream cake, “we wanted our wedding to represent our style from what we were wearing down to the color of the silverware.” Having always wanted a wedding dress with sleeves, Sarah had them added to her fit-and-flare gown. “It was extra but worth it,” she says. She also carried a boho bouquet of roses, anemones and ranunculus. "The blooms were everything to me,” she says. Sarah and Ian pulled off their romantic reception with simple flower stems in sleek vases, bronze flatware and a smilax-covered mantle, and treated everyone to mini apple pies, oatmeal raisin cookies and mini cheesecake bites in addition to their cake. Guests left the wedding with custom matchboxes and hangover kits with Advil, Emergen-C and antacids. “I’ve always loved matches, basically since I was little,” Sarah says.
