A Romantic Brunch Wedding at Alabama 4-H Center in Columbiana, Alabama

Hannah Brooks (22 and a nurse) and Britton Garrett (22 and a landscape architect) were married in an outdoor chapel at the Alabama 4-H Center in Columbiana, Alabama. “I loved that it was an outdoor chapel," Hannah says. "I wanted my wedding to be outside, but I didn't want to lose the feeling of walking down a center aisle feeling the presence of the Lord in a place that has been worshiped in.” Gold, neutral and shale green accents were used throughout, including bridesmaid necklaces and florals. Eucalyptus, ranunculus, anemones and plum roses were used in bouquets, boutonnieres and arrangements. Hannah carried a vintage handkerchief from her grandmother and wore a gown with sleeves, while Britton wore a navy suit. Before walking down the aisle, they shared a private first look with the groom blindfolded. “The moment when I saw my groom while he was blindfolded, he touched the fabric of my dress and was overcome with emotion," Hannah says. "He couldn’t even see me and he started to cry. That was when I knew that the roots of our love made the day so beautiful, not the beautiful setting or the beautiful dress. The pair grew up together in the same church but didn’t start dating until attending Auburn University together. He proposed at the arboretum where they had had their first date, surrounded by loved ones and photos of them together. Their reception was at the onsite pavilion with views of the lake. Guests dined on brunch food like chicken and waffles and omelets along with blini, mimosas and Bloody Marys. They played a prerecorded video from one of Britton’s brothers, a Marine who couldn’t be there. The couple danced their first song to “Take the World" by Johnnyswim, guests sent them off with bubbles. Britton carried Hannah down to the dock, where a boat was waiting to whisk them away. —Caroline Eubanks
