Unparalleled views and a stellar on-site team were just two reasons Funmi Giwa (29 and an advisory consultant) and Francis Baffour (31 and a radiologist) booked the pastoral Granite Ridge Estate & Barn in southern Maine. “The owners were incredibly hospitable from the first moment we contacted them to the weekend of our wedding,” Funmi says. Shades of blush, silver, olive and lavender played up the barn’s wood-lined interior, resulting in a look that Funmi describes as “urban rustic.” “We loved the idea of mixing our diverse urban upbringing with lush greenery, cascading plants and romantic florals,” she says. A savory spread of mini lobster rolls, oysters and crab cakes stayed true to the Maine-inspired menu. The couple’s signature cocktail—a Pear Car—was inspired by a drink Funmi and Francis discovered during one of their first dates at a Philadelphia restaurant. Postceremony, Funmi and Francis changed into traditional Yoruba outfits.
