A Romantic Mountain Wedding at Dolce Vita in Apache Junction, Arizona

Stacey Alexander (23 and a nurse) was planning a surprise birthday hiking trip for Jim Webber (24 and a university enrollment counselor), but little did she know he was planning a surprise of his own: to propose to her on a mountainside that same day. When it came down to creating their big day, Stacey says, “I knew that I wanted the scenic Superstition Mountains as part of my wedding." Dolce Vita at Superstition Mountain provided the stunning backdrop they were looking for to host their outdoor ceremony. “I wanted the feel of my wedding to be vintage glamour,” says Stacy. “That’s just who I am!“ The couple decorated with the colors of teal, pink and gold and incorporated whimsical superhero details, since Jim is a fan of superheroes and comics. A Spanish band played Latino-inspired jazz music for the cocktail hour, followed by a dance party at the reception. “It was my goal to create an epic music list to make guests of all ages want to participate,” says Stacey. The bride’s mother even surprised her at the reception by dancing to “Stacy’s Mom” by Fountains of Wayne -- ”she had everyone in tears of laughter!” says Stacey.
