A Romantic-Meets-Boho Desert Elopement in California's Joshua Tree National Park
Although the COVID-19 pandemic forced Melody and Xavier to postpone, and then cancel, their big wedding celebration the couple decided to elope to the desert. The couple was heartbroken by the decision to cancel their larger wedding and wanted to find a meaningful way to still celebrate their love. That's where their romantic elopement in Joshua Tree National Park came in. "We wanted to set up the wedding theme in a way that connected it with the destination environment we selected, so we chose bohemian patterns and decor for our elopement," shared Melody.
Although Melody and Xavier weren't able to celebrate with family, that didn't take away from any of the joy or emotion that filled their day. Xavier recalls his favorite part of their desert elopement as the moment "when we read the letter we wrote to each other." The couple's elopement was the intimate cultivation of their adorable love story. Xavier recalls how the couple met online and he "asked her out right away. When I saw her the very time, I knew she was the one I was meant to find. Later on, I proposed by the Santa Monica beach at the place where we took our first selfie. During the proposal, I asked a dance group to pretend to be visitors. They walked by us and ask her to take a picture, then they danced around us with the music to the hit song 'Marry You,' by Bruno Mars."
