A Romantic Indian Wedding at Philadelphia Airport Marriott in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Neha Raghunath (29 and an internal auditor) and Jithin Raghunath (29 and a technical account manager) say that choosing their wedding venue was one of the easiest decisions they made during the planning process. They knew they wanted to have their wedding in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, so it would be conveniently located for all their guests. Because they planned on having a large wedding with 350 guests and they wanted to cater Indian food, the couple quickly narrowed their options and decided on the Philadelphia Airport Marriott. For their wedding decor, Neha and Jithin wanted to balance Eastern and Western styles. "I wanted to harmonize the traditional Hindu wedding feel with the venue's elegant Western-style atmosphere," Neha says. The couple chose a palette of green, gold, burgundy and ivory to help them achieve this look. The structured, square frame mandap where the ceremony took place was decorated with garlands of ivory flowers and greenery that echoed the aisle decorations, and the ceremony area was illuminated with red lighting. At the reception, flower arrangements made up of ivory hydrangeas, ivory orchids and greenery filled the tall trumpet-style vase centerpieces, and around the room floating candles topped arrangements of orchids in water to create a romantic glow. As a nod to Neha and Jithin's love of traveling, the escort cards featured silhouettes of landmarks from their favorite cities, and each table number included a blurb about why they love those places. As if all those gorgeous details weren't enough, Neha and Jithin ended the night with a cake from Carlo's Bakery, the bakery from "Cake Boss." Uncorked Studios was there to capture the day.
