A Romantic Green-and-Purple Garden Wedding at the Market at Grelen in Somerset, Virginia
Taylor and Daniel made a good team when planning their bespoke wedding. “I loved conceptualizing the aesthetics and Daniel handled the logistics,” Taylor says. Their venue, a 600-acre nursery, inspired the romantic garden vibe. Taylor sketched branches for the letterpressed invitations, dreamed up the mauve, burgundy and sage palette and enlisted her cousin to be the nattily-dressed ring bearer.
Years before their wedding, Daniel gave Taylor a stack of letters to open at future life events. Taylor read the last one before walking down the aisle.
Taylor and Daniel married in front of a circular altar covered in autumn foliage, hydrangeas, scabiosa and garden roses. The newlyweds entered their reception wearing custom hanboks in honor of Daniel’s Korean heritage. “Daniel’s hobby is woodworking, so we wanted our favors to reflect that,” Taylor says. Together, they made every guest a set of wood coasters and built gold-painted wood frames for the tall centerpieces.
