This couple brought elegant charm and rustic details to an industrial factory converted into a venue, making for a romantic wedding in Deep River, Connecticut. “A friend from Connecticut told us about the Lace Factory, and we decided to look at it,” Katie Falstreau (30 and a set costumer for television) says of her marriage to Justin Gray (34 and a sound mixer for television and film). “When we did, we fell in love with the large, open space with a bar reclaimed from an old hotel, floors rescued from somewhere else and tons of unique touches everywhere. It's like rustic meets industrial.” Katie and Justin were married outside on the venue's lawn, with ribbon pieces reflecting the pink, white and gold color palette hanging as the backdrop, captured on camera by Photo Philosophies. White napkins decorated with gold circles were given to guests, with a tag attached that read “For your happy tears.” The bridal bouquet was arranged with white and blush peonies and created by Ashleigh’s Garden, as were the hydrangea and garden rose centerpieces arranged inside DIY twine vases at the indoor reception. Gold sparkled all over the indoor space—from the “Mr.” and “Mrs” signs on the back of the couple's chairs to the cake serving set and the fuzzy toppers on the cupcakes. A stand-out detail that we definitely noticed was the pieces of yellow and green vintage luggage, stacked on top of one another and draped with greenery that stood in the center of the room. "The whole vibe of the wedding was so us," Katie says. "In the end, all the crafting and planning paid off, and the day was so relaxed and beautiful because of it."

The pink, white and gold color palette was reflected within the glamorous stationery of the wedding invitations. "I loved that the stationery looked like a fun party," Katie says. "It was white or pink, depending on the card, with black, white, gold and pink confetti."
"My wedding dress was from J.Crew, but it was customized by my friend to include three tiers," Katie says. "I saw the dress and it reminded of a milk-glass vase, which I collect, and I decided I could customize it."
Katie and her bridesmaids wore heart-shaped sunglasses as they happily sat next to each other, with their bouquets resting in their laps. "The girls wore whatever pink dress they wanted," Katie says. "I wanted to be able to see the individuality that I love about all of them."

Katie and Justin were married on the lawn at the Lace Factory in Deep River, Connecticut. The couple joined at the ceremony in front of the draped gold, pink and white ribbon backdrop.

At the reception, table centerpieces were decorated with hydrangeas and garden roses arranged inside vases wrapped with twine, which were made by the bride.
At the reception, a display of yellow and green pieces of luggage were stacked on one another, reflecting the vintage twist within the wedding decor. The luggage was draped with greenery and positioned in the middle of the room.

Katie and Justin stood on the tracks with their wedding party, with bridesmaids dressed in knee-length pink dresses while the groomsmen wore gray suits with ivory ties. The groomsmen matched the groom's apparel, and the ties matched the bride's layered wedding dress.

An assortment of carrot cake and red velvet cupcakes were served for dessert, in addition to the white vanilla wedding cake. " We kept the wedding cake simple with just vanilla cake and frosting, but we also had mini cupcakes to represent our favorite desserts in our early dating," Katie says. "We couldn't afford to order desserts at restaurants, so we would stop at the grocery store on the way home and I would get a piece of carrot cake and Justin would get a piece of red velvet cake, which were our cupcake flavors."
The long dining table where the bride and groom sat at the reception was marked by the back of the chairs with "Mr." and "Mrs." gold signs. High and low vases wrapped in twine with arrangements of roses, hydrangeas and veronica decorated the surface of the tables.

The two-tier ivory wedding cake was covered in buttercream and had vanilla-flavored cake. The bottom of each tier was bordered with thick texture, and the top was accented with a DIY gold flag topper.
