A Romantic Garden Wedding at Jardin de Buis in Pottersville, New Jersey
Alison Pantelic (33 and an account manager) and Thomas "Tommy" Carr (33 and an assistant vice president at GE Energy Financial Services) met while out in New York City. Alison and Tommy added blush and ivory florals plus gold, silver and mercury glass details to their vintage-inspired garden party. “The venue really drove most of the theme,” Alison says of the French-inspired gardens. “It was so ethereal and beautiful.” Light colors and natural greenery allowed the unique outdoor setting to take center stage as the couple said “I do” in front of an iron gate arch wrapped with botanicals. “The flowers made it magical,” Alison says. Tommy’s uncle officiated the ceremony.
The reception was held in the venue’s greenhouse. Keeping with a light and open vibe, white linens, soft blooms and mercury glass votives decorated each wood table. Guests dined on Scotch eggs and smoked trout, channeling Tommy’s English heritage, as well as cookies from Momofuku Milk Bar with custom labels. The escort cards were designed to look like the key cards from The Marshall House in Savannah, Georgia—the hotel where the couple got engaged. “We have a bit of a champagne theme running through our relationship, so we went with a champagne red velvet cake,” Alison says of their tiered confection. “It was so delicious that I wish I could have had more than two pieces!”
