A Romantic Garden Wedding at Floral Farms in San José del Cabo, Mexico
For their mid-winter wedding, Joelle Maude and Henry Graham decided to skip Chicago’s snow and head to the balmy coast of San José del Cabo, Mexico, for a romantic garden celebration under the stars. To ensure the festivities went off without a hitch, the pair brought in the planning pros at Amy Abbott Events. “The minute we got to Mexico, all our work was done. We didn’t have to worry about anything because our planner had everything under control! We spent the days before the wedding hanging out at the pool and spending quality time with our guests,” Joelle says. Set on a 25-acre organic farm in the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains, Flora Farms offered a breathtaking backdrop for Joelle and Henry’s “I dos.” The pair took advantage of the picturesque setting and opted for an al fresco ceremony and reception in the venue’s mango grove. Surrounded by their family and friends, the pair exchanged vows under a romantic garden rose archway, surrounded by bright, fragrant florals and swaying palm trees. Guests had the opportunity to explore the grounds during cocktail hour, before sitting down to dinner around rustic farm tables topped with ivory linen runners, vintage glassware, brass candlesticks and bouquets of ivory anemones and blush roses. Festive maraca favors doubled as the escort cards, offering a fun and festive way for guests to find the way to their seats. As the sun began to set, the string light canopy covering the grove came to life, showering the reception tables and dance floor with warm golden light. “Looking back at our photos, we were grinning from ear to ear the whole time. Things are never perfect, but our day was as close to perfect as we could imagine,” Joelle says. “And now we have an excuse to escape Chicago every February to Mexico!”
