A Romantic Garden Party Wedding at a Family Home in Cross River, New York
With a romantic garden party in mind, Adrienne Hayes (27 and a marketing manager) and Per von Rosen (32 and a project manager) planned a flower-filled fete that incorporated cultural nods to the groom’s Swedish roots.
Adrienne’s childhood home turned out to be the perfect fit for their midsummer nuptials. “Not only did I grow up there, but we got married in the same garden that my parents did over 30 years ago,” she says of the sentimental space.
Prior to making their grand reception exit, Adrienne traded her ethereal tulle gown for a modern jumpsuit.
“They looked like little garden fairies!” Adrienne says of the tulle-clad flower girls.
Per’s family crest was incorporated throughout the stationery and lawn games, which partygoers played while sipping blackberry old-fashioneds under flower-adorned trees. Additional botanical details included floral-print ties, patterned bridesmaid dresses and a playful pair of green bridal pumps.
Per accessorized his blue bespoke suit with a tie that belonged to Adrienne’s late grandfather.
Loose arrangements of peonies, anemones and ranunculus topped dark wood dining tables, along with gold flatware, patterned chargers and pink glassware. When it came time for dessert, the newlyweds cut into a fruit-filled confection before passing out mini naked cakes to each of their guests.
