A Romantic, Flower-Filled Celebration at Woodstock Inn & Resort in Vermont
For their wedding at the Woodstock Inn, Alexandra O’Neill (30 and a marketing manager) and Robert Nitto III (32 and a senior product manager) wanted their guests to feel like they were coming home. “We imagined something that was inviting, comforting, unexpected and enchanting,” Alexandra says. They achieved that by focusing on welcoming details, like fresh fruit on tables, lawn games, chinoiserie accents and mini blueberry crumbles. Friends designed stationery with images of thyme, while bunches of the herb sat at each place setting. Abundant flowers and champagne, however, exceeded anything guests might find at home.
Vines and tea lights hung above tables topped with roses, peonies, delphinium, ranunculus, figs, peaches and herbs.
The maid of honor rocked a satin jumpsuit, while bridesmaids matched in textured ecru gowns.
Smilax vines, herbs, sweet peas, dahlias, ranunculus, garden roses, peonies, clematis and local greens created a wall at the entrance to the tent.
Seating areas with antique furniture, gold frames and vases formed cozy nooks for guests to relax in during the reception. “It was so important to us that our guests feel at ease,” Alexandra says.
