A Romantic Fall Wedding at The Ashford Estate in Allentown, New Jersey

A combination of rich fall tones, textured floral arrangements and glam gold accents came together to create a warm, timeless vibe for Jamie Zuckerman (30 and a physical therapist) and Brian Philipps’ (28 and in FDNY emergency medical services) wedding. Jamie’s strapless, mermaid-style gown featured a sweetheart neckline, a ruched bodice and a full skirt with alternating layers of solid and striped organza and tulle. The bridesmaids carried natural bunches of quicksand roses, ivory roses, black forest calla lilies, dusty miller and succulents. Brian’s cuff links—tiny replicas of The Flash’s logo—paid homage to his favorite superhero. For the reception, Jamie switched into a pair of white Wonder Woman Converse sneakers—a nod to her favorite character. In addition to helping with much of the wedding planning, Jamie’s mother also lent her handwriting talents to the place cards. She calligraphed each seating assignment in gold ink on tented navy blue card stock. Half of the reception tables were topped with whimsical arrangements of branches dripping with orchids, candles and succulents. Other tables featured lanterns and candelabras and small scattered bunches of blooms. Candles and low lighting paired with ivory linens to lend a soft, romantic feel to the grand space. “I always wanted a more relaxed venue that would not call for modern touches or an intense, formal feel, and The Ashford Estate was perfect,” Jamie says of their venue search. “It has just enough formal touches and still feels cozy—as if we were getting married in our own beautiful home.”
