A Romantic Fall Wedding at Longfellow's Wayside Inn in Sudbury, Massachusetts

Sara (27 and a nursing student) transferred from New York to a college in Boston with her friend, Liz, who moved into an apartment with her childhood friend, Ryan (28 and a film producer). When Sara went to visit Liz's new apartment and meet her roommates, she was immediately drawn to Ryan and the two started dating almost right away. Six years later, Ryan proposed to Sara on a romantic getaway to Costa Rica, where he got down on one knee in the sand and gave her a custom designed engagement ring. They decided to have their wedding at Longfellow's Wayside Inn, a historical venue and America's oldest inn (opened in 1716!), where they used almost every inch of the grounds, from the Redstone Schoolhouse and Grist Mill for photographs, to the Longfellow Garden for the cocktail hour, to the canopy tent for the reception. The fall wedding was a bit chilly, so Sarah wore a fuzzy white shrug over her dress and gifted each of her bridesmaids a pink pashmina scarf. Bouquets incorporated unique arrangements of cascading ivy, ferns, cotton blossoms, baby's breath, and seeded eucalyptus to go with the soft textures of the wedding style. All of the decor incorporated elegant rustic materials, like mason jars, tree stumps, and burlap. Overall, Sara and Ryan's wedding was the embodiment of New England charm.
