A Romantic, Elegant Wedding at Darby House in Galloway, Ohio
With an envisioned style of "neutral and pretty" in mind, Anna Dutton (20 and a student) and Thomas Dutton (21 and a student) fell in love with the natural landscaping at Darby House in Galloway, Ohio, that set the perfect tone for their elegant wedding. "The venue itself was surrounded by acres upon acres filled with wildlife, creeks, bridges and barns," Anna says. "The foyer, racing room and dining room had large, beautiful windows that allowed you to see the property from inside. It was so simple yet so elegant, which became a constant theme in our wedding." Leigh Elizabeth Photography captured the white invitations accented with faint gray text, which reflected the occasion's simple nature. Anna chose a Sarah Seven ivory wedding dress with a lace illusion neckline that opened up in the back, and her bridesmaids added a touch of softness with knee-length pink chiffon dresses from J.Crew. The men wore brown pants and white dress shirts, and Thomas stood out with his brown jacket that blended well with the natural landscape. At the indoor-outdoor cocktail hour and reception, dining tables were decorated with wildflower centerpieces surrounded by leafy greens and marked with numbers written on kraft paper. Our favorite detail? The pink peony bridal bouquet with accents of pink blooms, dusty miller and other greenery that embodied the romantic palette and theme of the day. "We used the Flowerman in Centerville, Ohio, for our flowers, where we got to choose the flowers we wanted and put them together ourselves," Anna says. "It allows you to assemble everything exactly the way you want to, and who doesn't love smelling and working with beautiful, fresh flowers?"
