A Romantic Disney-Themed Wedding at the Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Lakewood, New Jersey

Rachel Senz (24) and Matthew (Matt) Engel (26) were dating for four years when Mat popped the question. The couple was a night stroll in Paris along the Pont Alexander III bridge when the Eiffel Tower lit up and he proposed.  “It was the best moment of my life!” says Rachel. They spent just over a year planning a romantic wedding in Lakewood, New Jersey. A soft color palette of pale pink, yellow, cream and white as well as lace accents were used throughout the day. “Matt and I wanted to really make our wedding representative of who we are and what we love so we went with a Disney theme,” says Rachel. The couple had an indoor ceremony at the Eagle Ridge Golf Club lined with tall arrangements of hydrangea and roses in pastel hues. Small crystal Mickey Mouse silhouettes were hidden within Rachel's bouquet as instrumental versions of classic Disney songs played in the background.  Accents  of the famed cartoon were also placed within the the sole of her shoes, in the groom’s boutonniere and on his cufflinks. After Rachel and Matt said “I do,” their 100 guests entered an indoor cocktail hour complete with passed hors d’oeuvres and an Eiffel Tower-shaped ice sculpture reminiscent of their engagement. The reception was decorated with white linen covered round tables and low rose and hydrangea centerpieces in shades of white, peach and pink. A “Happily Ever After” escort card display pointed each guest to his or her seat. All were treated to a night of dancing to the couple’s DJ before being served a three-tier Disney-inspired wedding cake. The confection was topped with a pink “Happily Ever After” topper as well as pink and yellow rose cake flowers. “We managed to bring Disney to our wedding in a classy and sophisticated way, which is exactly what we wanted!” says Rachel.
