A Romantic Desert Wedding at Sassi in Scottsdale, Arizona

Megan Hampton (27 and a health-care project coordinator) and Chris Myers (31 and a corporate sponsorship manager) amped up the romance of the desert on their wedding day. The couple held their wedding at Sassi, an Italian restaurant and wedding venue that fit their vision for a rustic, romantic wedding. Situated at the bottom of Pinnacle Peak Mountain in Scottsdale, Arizona, “the venue allowed us to host an outdoor and indoor wedding and it introduced our out-of-town guests to the true beauty of the Arizona desert,” Megan says. The bride’s favorite color is navy blue, which appeared throughout the wedding details from her shoes and wedding-party fashions to the ribbon in her fabric rose bouquet, customized unity-candle set and her even on her cupcake tower topped with a single-tier wedding cake. “The wedding style was simple desert romance,” Megan says. “We embraced the use of light to set the feel for our wedding day.” From the outdoor wedding ceremony filled with candles to the string lights, chandeliers and votives around the indoor reception, there was no shortage of romantic ambience. One detail that was especially meaningful to Megan and Chris was the anniversary dance for all the married couples. “Not only did we get to share the dance floor with our family and friends, but it was inspiring to be surrounded by so many couples who have loved each other for decades and decades,” Megan says. “I think how personable we made the wedding really reflected us as a couple. We made sure our guests were treated like royalty and had the best time possible.” See the details, captured by Drew Brashler Photography, below.
