A Romantic Countryside Wedding at The Market at Grelen in Somerset, Virginia

Stephanie van Sasse van Ysselt (26 and a publicist)and Anton Anger (25 and an interior designer) outfitted their nature-inspired celebration in a soothing combo of lavender, navy, gray and soft greens.  With Virginia’s picturesque wine country as their backdrop, Stephanie and Anton took notes from the bride’s Dutch and French heritage. “We focused on keeping the look flowy and romantic,” Stephanie says. They set the tone right away with invitations designed by the groom, and on the day of their "I dos", they incorporated lavender, rosemary and sage into their floral arrangements. While the four bridesmaids donned pale purple gowns, Stephanie’s maid of honor wore a plum-colored dress to set her apart. “The bridesmaid bouquets were just small bunches of lavender,” Stephanie says.
“We focused a lot on the aromas of our florals, and I’ve always loved rosemary and lavender together.” The newlyweds had their first dance to “First Day of My Life” by Bright Eyes. “The song is about waking up from life after meeting that special someone, which is really how we felt when we met each other,” Stephanie says. “Love at first sight is so incredibly hard to explain, but it captures the emotions.”
