For their late summer wedding, Jaimie Schoen (27 and a freelance writer/blogger and part-time producer at Bella Design & Planning) wanted to combine her sense of fashion and style with Caleb Mackey’s (31 and a chocolatier) Iowa roots. The result was a welcoming, mountain-inspired fete with hints of glamour and drama. “I wanted our wedding to feel like it had a sense of place and give our guests a feel for what we love about the place we call home,” Jaimie says. The pair took advantage of the picturesque, natural setting with an outdoor ceremony set against Eagle’s rolling hills. Jaimie and Caleb exchanged personalized vows before a semicircle of colorful flowers and pampas grass. “It was amazing to walk down the aisle toward such a special space, and to feel totally surrounded by beauty,” Jaimie says. They showcased the country meets swanky theme in the details, like Jaimie’s kicks (a pair of hand-painted cowboy boots she designed herself), the paper goods that included embossed cow skull seals and the place settings. Guests dug into their gourmet meals at farm tables topped with square slate chargers, while the head tables rested on cowskin rugs. Colored taper candles and hanging Edison bulbs modernized the pastoral space. “Our biggest goal was for everyone to feel right at home, have an absolute blast and really let loose.”
