A Romantic, Country Chic Wedding at Cheekwood Gardens in Nashville, Tennessee

Alyssa Carmien (27 and an accountant) and Gary Roberts’s (46 and the CEO of Roberts Brothers Coach) wedding struck the perfect balance of country chic and romance. To celebrate the beauty of the summer months in Tennessee, an outdoor wedding was high on Alyssa and Gary’s list. Cheekwood Gardens in Nashville, TN could not have been a more perfect spot. The property’s expansive gardens with their perfectly manicured flowers, shrubbery and trees gave the ceremony an intimate, whimsical feel, only heightened by the fabric and floral draped chuppah, rose petals lining the aisle and fresh bunches of ivory hydrangeas. The reception took place only a few steps away in the brick courtyard at the Cheekwood Mansion’s former horse stables. It was there that Alyssa, Gary and their guests enjoyed an evening of alfresco dining and dancing. Elliott Events took the rustic space to the next level, introducing strands of bistro lights, dozens of pillar candles, rose petals, arrangements of purple blooms and vintage accents. The result was undeniably romantic with just a touch of vintage, country charm. The couple’s 13 different cakes, ranging in flavors from pina colada to chocolate Elvis and strawberries and cream were a huge hit with guests, as well as the photo booth and Gary’s performance of Collin Raye’s “In This Life.” A tip for the taking from Alyssa: “Relax and enjoy your day because it flies by! Gary and I made it a point to step aside for some time and just observe and take in everything. We wanted to be sure we took the time to notice every guest and detail of our special day.”
