A Romantic, Contemporary Wedding at Aynhoe Park in Aynho, England
Beanie and Gawein Geraedts tied the knot in the Cotswolds in an elegant, modern affair laced with quintessentially British flair. The day kicked off with a traditional ceremony at Oxford Church, followed by a fun-filled reception at Aynhoe Park, a charming 17th-century estate set on acres of beautifully landscaped parkland. Taking advantage of the setting, the pair opted for a tented reception that gave their guests sweeping views of the historic house, manicured gardens and countryside beyond. Luxe navy linens, delicate gold touches, acrylic chargers and hundreds of Dutch canal house tea light holders—honoring Gawein’s heritage—lent the tablescape a classic yet contemporary vibe, while garlands of fresh greenery and bouquets of soft blush blooms brought in an air of romance and a subtle bohemian edge. “Flowers were one of the first things we considered, and the Rose Shed did a gorgeous job,” Beanie says. “The lead color was pink to keep with the rest of the scheme, and I incorporated proteas as a nod to my South African roots. These became a central motif, not just in the bouquets, but also in the invitations, website and personalized menu cards.” The botanical bespoke stationery paid homage to the bride’s heritage and tied in seamlessly with the venue’s taxidermy décor (which included a rocking zebra and floating giraffe). “We also included a tandem bike (which I thought we hired, but my sister actually bought as a surprise!) with a Welcome/Welkom sign, designed a cocktail menu with cocktails named after our family members and flew in a Dutch DJ,” Beanie says.
