A Romantic, Industrial Wedding at The Pipe Shop in Vancouver, British Columbia

Jade Lam and Innet Innet planned a sophisticated, contemporary soiree filled with romantic, personalized touches for their spring wedding in Vancouver. The event’s aesthetic was inspired by The Pipe Shop, a restored heritage building on the city’s waterfront with a unique blend of industrial and rustic elements, including an exposed vaulted ceiling, wood pillars and floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the Vancouver skyline. With a guest list of 70, the couple used panels of ethereal fabric to divide the expansive loft into two intimate and distinct spaces for the ceremony and reception. The pair chose a muted color palette of powder blue and white to allow the venue’s architectural details and the decorative extras to shine through. Ghost chairs lined the aisle and sidled up to the reception tables, injecting the serene setting with a punch of ultra-modern glamour, while bundles of textured eucalyptus, white roses and anemones brought an element of freshness to the tablescapes. A marble theme ran throughout the décor, with engraved marble place cards in geometric shapes and a floating marbled cake with a geometric tier stealing the show during the reception. “The dessert table was one of the major highlights. It became the main photo area for our guests,” Jade says. Giant Jenga and other lawn games allowed guests to let loose during cocktail hour and created a festive mood that carried over into dinner. To mirror the day’s warm and intimate feel, Jade and Innet opted for a family-style dinner that encouraged guests to mix and mingle. “We wanted everyone to feel special and like they were part of a big family,” Jade says.
