A Romantic, Classic Wedding at Antrim 1844 Country House Hotel in Taneytown, Maryland

Alison Mogar (26 and bartender and student) and Christopher Hunt (34 and an accountant) met while both working at a local restaurant in Maryland. Soon their summer romance turned into a more serious relationship and, five years later, Chris proposed. While visiting family in Scotland, Alison and Chris decided to tour a castle in Edinburgh. Chris stopped a fellow tourist to take a picture for them and, as the photo was being taken, got down on one knee. They chose to have their wedding at the Antrim 1844 Country House Hotel in Taneytown, Maryland where acres of green land provided them ample space for their festivities. "I love the country and the grounds were perfect for what I envisioned," Alison says. The ceremony took place in the secret garden where she decorated the space with rose petals, hanging terrariums and mason jars. The reception was held in the pavilion where warm candle light and white floral arrangements created a romantic ambiance.Their wedding color palette was inspired by the bouquets of white roses, hydrangeas, blue orchids, greens and peacock feathers. "I loved the bold colors, but I love how classy white is," Alison says, "so we ended up with, and I say this loosely, a white palette with peacock accents." Keeping with the colors and the warm summer season, bridesmaids wore mismatched pale green dresses while groomsmen wore gray pants and vests with pale green ties. Alison and Chris' wedding perfectly matched the classic, country-style on the Antrim 1844 Country House Hotel.
