A Romantic Church Wedding at Priestley Chapel in Northumberland, Pennsylvania

Thomas (36 and a wedding florist and healthcare administrator) and Elliot (38 and a wedding florist and nurse) met online, but only anticipated a friendship rather than a romantic relationship. After a few months together, they started officially dating, but it still took them ten years to walk down the aisle. Both wanting a traditional church ceremony, they chose Priestley Chapel in Northumberland, Pennsylvania. As both grooms are professional wedding florists, however, they knew they wanted a more extravagant reception at The Barn at Boone's Dam, saying, "We have done more weddings at this beautiful location than any other in Central Pennsylvania and are in love with it's unique charm. We have also become the closes of friends with the owners of this venue." While both grooms opted for classic black tuxedos, they distinguished between their styles as Tom wore a black bow tie and vest with green cufflinks (his favorite color), and Elliot wore white with blue cufflinks (his favorite color). Rather than a than having a traditional color scheme, Tom and Elliot decided to let the flowers be the central theme of the wedding, with intricate white and green arrangements of oriental lilies, hydrangeas, roses, orchids, snapdragons, magnolia foliage, and evergreen--over 400 stems in total! The elegant affair had an equally sophisticated seven-course menu, but they waited to cut the wedding cake until a champagne brunch the following morning. Music was also central to the wedding ceremony and reception, as the couple walked down the aisle to an acoustic rendition of Lady Gaga's "Edge of Glory," and classical guitarist Chris Bohn performed Sarah McLachlan's "Son for a Winter's Night" for the first dance. The grooms also danced with their mothers to "Perfect Fan" by the Backstreet Boys. There is certainly no denying that professional wedding florists know how to throw a beautiful wedding!
