Using shades of red, pink, green and gold, Meredith MacDougall (27 and owner of Canary Lane) and Ben Abbott (29 and a senior account executive for Rakuten Marketing) hosted a romantic, vineyard affair with subtle rustic accents and a few odes to Ben’s native Australia.

The day kicked off with an outdoor ceremony overlooking the grape vines. Oak wine barrels topped with dahlias, scabiosas and eucalyptus marked the start of the aisle, which featured a line of patterned, Turkish kilim rugs as symbols of good luck.

“I asked our florist to incorporate a lot of eucalyptus, since it’s native to Australia,” Meredith says of the sweet touch. Vintage brass bowls contained leafy arrangements of staghorn ferns and succulents, while mercury glass vases contained bundles of dahlias, garden roses and lisianthus.

Meredith’s mother baked a single-tier confection for the couple that she topped with white buttercream and a pastel, paper banner. When it came to the music, the couple chose an eclectic mix of their favorite classic rock songs. “Everyone went crazy when Men at Work’s ‘Land Down Under’ came on,” Meredith says.
