Jennifer (Jenny) and Robin got engaged after six months of dating, but they took their time planning a black- tie wedding at The Astorian, an industrial, art deco venue in downtown Houston. “We wanted to honor its aesthetic by keeping the style clean and sophisticated,” Jenny says. They filled the space with candles and blush flowers, and draped greenery on the chuppah, where Jenny’s dad (a rabbi) officiated the ceremony. Despite the elegant details, the couple kept things lighthearted. Jenny wrote silly poems to hang around the venue, and friends signed giant Jenga blocks instead of a guestbook.

Jenny wore a blush silk gazar gown with a fitted drape corset bodice, and her daughter, Hannah, chose sequins. Vases held snapdragons, larkspur, lisianthus, privet berries, thistle, smilax and eucalyptus.  A cake in the shape of a convertible honored Robin’s late grandfather, who designed the Ford Edsel. There was even a fondant model of their dog.  Guests raised sparklers as Jenny and Robin made their way to a 1937 Rolls-Royce Phantom.
