A Romantic Barn Wedding at Riverside on the Potomac in Leesburg, Virginia

Brielle Robbins (26 and a gemologist) and Matthew Woods's (30 and a corporate trainer) wedding style could be summed up in two words: rustic romance. Their venue set the tone for this style: the couple got married at Riverside on the Potomac, a polo horse farm in Leesburg, Virginia. "Its rolling hills, white picket fences and historical barn set the feel for our wedding," Brie says. The ceremony took place outdoors by the water. Wooden barn doors decorated with wreaths of baby's breath marked the entrance to the ceremony area, and a draped white wedding arch with green garlands stood at the altar. As a fun surprise, Brie and Matt hired Word of Mouth, an a capella group from Washington, DC, to sit undercover among their guests at the ceremony. During the processional, they stood up and began singing "I Won't Give Up" by Jason Mraz. "It was a beautiful surprise for everyone," Brie says. To fit their natural surroundings, Brie and Matt chose a soft palette of blush, gray, ivory and gold. The barn at Riverside on the Potomac was arranged with brown chiavari chairs and farmhouse tables covered in gray tablecloths with burlap and lace runners and blush napkins. Each table featured centerpieces made up of wooden candlesticks and mason jars topped by ivory flower arrangements. The sweetheart table was covered in a sparkly silver tablecloth and decorated with green garlands and a gold block-letter ampersand. But the dessert table took the cake—in more than one way. The display featured an array of antique cake stands showcasing Smith Island Baking Company's famous 14-layer cakes in different flavors. Mari Harsan Studios captured all the gorgeous details.
