A Romantic Barn Wedding at Carter Farm in Benton, Arkansas

Quiet elegance and warm romance were the primary ingredients at the wedding of Britanie Rich (23 and a teacher) and Michael Cotten (23 and in information technology) in Benton, Arkansas. The couple, who had met through common friends a few years earlier, held their ceremony and reception at Carter Farm—the same place where Michael had proposed 14 months earlier. “The palette was burgundy, blush and white with touches of gold and a lot of greenery,” Britanie sasy. “I chose these colors because they felt so romantic.” The property provided a naturally beautiful backdrop for Britanie and Michael’s ceremony, and its on-site barn served as an intimate reception space. “I wanted the focus to be on our love for each other and our faith,” Britanie says. While bouquets and reception centerpieces by Clarksville Florist boasted shades of burgundy and plenty of greenery, the boutonnieres had a more pointed personal touch; Michael and his groomsmen pinned pieces of cotton to their light gray tuxedos in honor of the couple’s married name. —Carolyn Meers
