A Romantic Ballroom Wedding at the Peninsula Club in Cornelius, North Carolina

Hurricane weather did not put a damper on Pamela Herrera (26 and in baking) and Donald Littlejohn's (31 and a teacher) wedding celebration at the Peninsula Club in Cornelius, North Carolina. The couple’s outdoor ceremony was moved inside to a cozy room at the country club, where Pamela and Donald said “I do” in front of a beautiful fireplace, surrounded by friends and family. They decorated the space with a tall wooden cross that was embellished with sheer fabric and florals. “It was important for my husband and me to have a representation of God at the center of our life,” Pamela says. “Our wedding was in the fall, so I tried to stick with dark and warm tones,” Pamela says. So she paired purple (her favorite color) with pops of peach and ivory. While the bride works in banking, she also does wedding planning on the side and used her expertise to infuse the country club’s grand ballroom with elegant decor and a regal purple and white color scheme. The newlyweds celebrated with a dance party, a photo booth and a dazzling sparkler exit. —Marissa Hermanson
