A Romantic, Rustic Wedding at Poplar Grove Plantation in Wilmington, North Carolina
Inspired by the old oak trees, beautiful historic home and lots of farm animals, Genie Hunter (32 and an occupational therapist) and Joseph Rumsey (27 and a behavior analyst) had a romantic, rustic wedding at Poplar Grove Plantation in Wilmington, North Carolina. "I visited Poplar Grove a few years back with a friend for her wedding, and thankfully she did not pick it as her location," Genie says. "I took Joseph there, and he immediately knew it was where he wanted to get married too. We both loved the rustic and natural atmosphere, and how beautiful the outdoors are." Shades of lavender, cranberry and peach filled the organic space with lots of romance and reclaimed wood, marquee letters and even little bear cake toppers brought their shabby-chic vision to life. One of our favorite details is Genie's wedding ring. Since she didn't want a traditional engagement ring, Joseph chose an aquamarine stone surrounded with rose gold, sapphires, diamonds and a hammered metal white gold band. How cool is that? There's so much to love about Genie and Joseph's wedding. See our favorite details, beautifully captured by Caroline Z. Photography, below.
