A Rockleigh Country Club Wedding in Rockleigh, New Jersey, Filled With Vibrant Pink Orchids

After Yolanda and Enrique’s seaside Positano engagement, the pair decided to bring the Amalfi Coast to New Jersey for their wedding. “We fell in love with the coastline and vineyards of Ravello,” Yolanda says, “but the main objective of our day was to spend time with our families at home.” A symbolic palette of blue and green—in tribute to Italy’s sky and vines—a Tuscan tasting table and big bushels of pink bougainvillea brought a Mediterranean vibe to The Rockleigh. Enrique took his custom suit to the next level with blue fabric straight from Italy. “When I was picking it out, I thought to myself, ‘if my soon-to-be wife can splurge on a dress, why can’t I?’” he says. Of course the couple’s Italian engagement also inspired their invitation suite. “We found ways to integrate the Amalfi Coast into our paper,” Yolanda says. An illustration of a Positano path leading to the couple’s stateside altar completed the design. Towering white orchids, romantic candles and acrylic panels inscribed with calligraphy welcomed guests to the reception. Cascading greenery, orchids, roses and bubble-style candle holders added even more Italian-inspired romance to tables. Guests kicked off the party by choosing either the Don Rick, a tequila and grapefruit juice drink named after Enrique’s nickname, or the Honey I Do, Yolanda’s combo of honey, strawberry simple syrup and bitters.  Enrique honored his Dominican roots by surprising guests with la hora loca (the crazy hour) of live carnival music and samba dancers. Yolanda and Enrique cut into layers of red velvet cheesecake topped with buttercream, pink roses and orchids—but made sure they provided guests plenty of other sweets, including a creme- brulee-scented vanilla bean and berry compote cake. “Our guests are still raving about the dessert,” Yolanda says. “We didn’t want anyone going home hungry.”
