Rachel Gentilucci (29 and a teacher) spent her summers in Bethany Beach and Ben Sammon (30 and a project manager) grew up near Annapolis, so throwing a breezy wedding on the Eastern Shore made them feel right at home. The venue’s grounds inspired the day’s natural white, blue and green palette and personal, understated details. A friend designed the pair’s simple invitation suite, while the bride painted a welcome watercolor map. Another pal officiated their waterside ceremony under an arch covered in flowers and sheer draping. To stand out from his groomsmen, Ben wore a white tie rather than a sage green one. Giant balloons added playfulness to cocktail hour, as did lawn games like corn hole and life-size Jenga. At the reception, airy linens and greenery created a fresh, lighthearted vibe. Guests dined family style on crab cakes, then enjoyed a semi-naked German buttercream cake that combined red velvet cake with Smith Island yellow cake filled with chocolate fudge and crushed peanut butter cups.
